The Holy Spirit
Welcome aboard The Clarion Express, because we are going to talk about the Holy Spirit.
We have been looking at love, the love God has for us, and the love we have not only for God but for one another. We know that God so loved us that He sent Yeshua for our salvation. But is that it? Yeshua died and rose and then ascended back to the Father. Now, are we on our own? Well, God says that He will never leave us. Hebrews 13:5 tells us, “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
No God did not leave us on our own. Instead He sent the Holy Spirit to walk with us and to be with us and to council us throughout our lives. John 14:15-21 says, “If you love Me, you will do the things I command. I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper. He will give you this Helper to be with you forever. The Helper is the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him because it does not see Him or know Him. But you know Him. He lives with you and He will be in you. I will not leave you all alone like orphans. I will come back to you. In a little while the world will not see Me anymore, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live, too. On that day you will know that I am in My Father. You will know that you are in Me and I am in you. He who knows My commands and obeys them is the one who loves Me. And My Father will love him who loves Me. I will love him and will show Myself to him.”
God’s love for us is a great love. He created the world out of love, and He gave it to us as a place to show our love for Him and for others. You see we can not just love in word or deed, but by our actions.
1 John 3: 16-18 says, “This is how we know what real love is: Yeshua gave His life for us. So we should give our lives for our brothers. Suppose a believer is rich enough to have all that he needs. He sees his brother in Messiah who is poor and does not have what he needs. What if the believer does not help the poor brother? Then the believer does not have God’s love in his heart. My children, our love should not be only words and talk. Our love must be true love. And we should show that love by what we do.”
You see, the Holy Spirit gives us the power to live a godly life.
John 16:7-11 tells us this, “But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment: regarding sin, because they do not believe in Me; and regarding righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you no longer are going to see Me; and regarding judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.”
As Titus 3:3-6 says, “For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but in accordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He richly poured out upon us through Messiah Yeshua our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” John 3: 4-8 says this, “Yeshua responded and said to him, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ Nicodemus said to Him, ‘How can a person be born when he is old? He cannot enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born, can he?’ Yeshua answered, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it is coming from and where it is going; so is everyone who has been born of the Spirit.”’
The Holy Spirit will lead us in all truth when we live by God’s Commandments and when we let go of this world. He will transform us and make us new creations, born again leaving the world behind us and now living in the power of the Holy Spirit. We become new creations and the old is gone, living in the flesh is dead, the passions and lust and pride of life, and now we become alive in the Spirit. This is the power of God’s love for us. Now we have been made whole, one with God with a new way of living and the hope of eternity in our hearts. Are you walking and living in the Spirit of God? Have you become the light to the world, speaking truth about God’s love? If not, you can begin today. As you asked Yeshua to come live inside you, now ask Him to fill you with His Spirit.
