Yeshua, God’s Salvation
John 1:1-5 tells us this, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of mankind. And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not grasp it.”
If Yeshua is the Word made flesh, then everything unto life must be found in God’s Word. 2 Peter 1:2-4 says this, “May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Yeshua our Lord. His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence, by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” God’s Word gives us the saving knowledge we need to live holy lives. Yeshua, God’s Word, means God’s Salvation and this Salvation, Yeshua, shows us the way to salvation. Peter tells the people of the Sanhedrin this in
Acts 4:8-12, “Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit said to them, ‘Rulers and elders of the people! If we are on trial today for the good done for a sick man, as to how this fellow was healed, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Messiah Yeshua of Nazareth, whom you had crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this one stands before you whole. This Yeshua is ‘the stone—rejected by you, the builders, that has become the chief cornerstone.’ There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved!”’
Only Yeshua’s Hebrew name means God’s Salvation. So when we speak about salvation shouldn’t we be using His proper name? His Greek name Jesus or His Latin name Iesus is like calling a person whose name is John, Jack or Robert, Bob and even William, Bill. It’s not quite the same. When we say Yeshua we are saying, “God sent His Salvation,” because He so loved us! That is important. Today so many people feel unloved, but God so loved each one of us that He sent Yeshua, His Salvation, so that through His shed blood, when we repent, we may have His forgiveness. It’s through the shed blood that covers us that we can have peace between us and God.
Colossians 1: 19-20 says, “For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.”
Exodus 12 tells us, when Israel covered their doorposts with the blood of the lamb, the death angel passed over them, this was their salvation. This is true today with the blood of the precious Lamb, Yeshua, it covers us, and we now have salvation from the angel of death. But only Yeshua, who is the Word of God in the flesh, does the knowledge of salvation come. God’s Salvation also washes us through His shed blood.
Hebrews 10:19-22 tells us that we are not only covered by the blood but we have been washed clean by the blood. “Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Yeshua by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, through His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let’s approach God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts washed clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
Also Hebrew 9: 13-14 says, “For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
Salvation only comes through Yeshua, and the knowledge of salvation only comes through God’s Word, Yeshua. So let God’s Word direct your path as Proverbs 3:1-6 tells us, “My son, do not forget My teaching, but let your heart keep My commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” When you read your Bible, pray about what you are reading and let God direct your path. He will direct you to the truth, because the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth as John 16:13-15 says, “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take what is Mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is Mine; therefore I said that He will take what is Mine and declare it to you.”
Remember the sword of the Holy Spirit is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17b).Today, don’t you think that we should be the True Light to the world and speak Yeshua, name correctly? Galatians 5:25, “If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step (walk) with the Spirit.”
