Never Alone

“In that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you” (John 14:20).
If I am in Yeshua/Jesus and He is in the Father and I am in God, then how could I ever be alone? Even if I feel alone, I am not because God is in me. He is with me always. We go through all kinds of trials and tribulations in our lives. We experience the shadow of death. Our hearts break at the loss of a loved one and yet we do not go through this alone. When I hurt, God hurts. When I cry, He gathers all my tears. “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book” (Psalm 56:8).
Yeshua carried our sorrows: “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, everyone, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:4-6). “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin” (Hebrews 4:15).
Yeshua feels our pain. He knows because He too suffered. He too felt pain. He too was tempted. He is in us and He knows us. He lives to make intercession on our behalf. When we cry, He cries out to the Father on our behalf. He too cried over a loved one: “‘Where have you laid him?’ He asked. ‘Come and see, Lord,’ they answered. Jesus wept. Then the Jews said, ‘See how He loved him!’” (John 11:34-36).
We think that God never hears us, but He hears every word. “The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand” (Revelation 8:4). “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil” (1 Peter 3:12).
God is so faithful to us that He even carries us when we can not even go forward. “Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation. Selah (think about it)” (Psalm 68:19). No matter what we are going through, no matter how hard it is, no matter what we think the outcome may be, God is with us. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2).
Psalm 91 tells us, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!’ For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day; of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not approach you. You will only look on with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. For you have made the LORD, my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place. No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent. For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, that you do not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and cobra; the young lion and the serpent you will trample down. Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation.”
When we walk in God’s ways, when we trust Him with our lives, He covers us with His wings, and no matter what is happening in our lives He is there as our refuge. He gives His angels charge over us to look after us and protect us. When things come our way we must always remember that God will work it all out because He loves us. Romans 8:28 tells us, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God.” Romans 8 continues to tell us that even when the accuser of the brethren, the devil himself, tries to accuse us, Yeshua is right there to intercede on our behalf. Verses 33-34: “Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Yeshua, our Messiah, is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.”
God’s love for us is so great that nothing will ever separate us from it; and because of it, God will never leave us or forsake us. Verses 35-39: “Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, ‘For Your sake we are being put to death all day; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’ But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
We are never alone, for if we belong to God then God belongs to us. If we are in Messiah Yeshua and He is in us and He is in the Father, we will never walk alone, guaranteed!
