We started the year celebrating the feast of Purim, and today we end the year celebrating Hanukkah. We saw the faith and courage of Esther as she fought for her Jewish people. How about the courage and dedication of Ruth—not just to Naomi, but to Naomi's God and country? We have seen the faith and courage of the Maccabees as they went through a time of persecution. And we cannot forget the faith and courage of Mary and Joseph as God met all of their needs.
In the beginning of the year, we were all challenged to pray and fast. Did we find ourselves doing that this year? Maybe not as much as we should have. It could be because we need to clean our own house, our temple, of the worldliness that clutters our day. Or maybe there is no room for Yeshua in the inn of our hearts. We may need to reprioritize things in our lives. We may need to let go of the world and spend more quality time with our Father.
This next year, let us commit to bringing the Good News, the light of God's Word, to a world that so desperately needs to hear the truth. And don't forget to take your oil, for without it your lamp will go out. We want to consider having times of prayer over this next year when we would pray together for the Jewish people, like Esther did; for our country, like Ruth; for the persecuted church, like the Maccabees; and for our needs to be met, like Mary and Joseph.
We want to have times this next year that we can gather in the Spirit, in our own homes, and together pray for these specific topics. We hope that as we call for these times of prayer that you will join us in praying as the Body of Messiah, truly as the temple of God, a house of prayer, holy unto the Lord. If you are interested, before you leave let us know that you will be standing with us in prayer on these days.
We have chosen the second day of every month to coincide with the Scripture from Matthew 18:19, "Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven."

Every day we post the name of a different town in the United States and pray that God would move in that town. Every month we post a new country where Believers are being persecuted and pray for them.
