No.7  JudeoChristianClarion.Com   “Loving the Lord”

Deuteronomy 6:4-7 tells us this about loving the Lord, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!  You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.  “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up”.

Yeshua went on to say this in Matthew 22 :37-40,  “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

As we have heard throughout these Clarion Calls is that people are falling away from the One True God. They no longer believe His Word. They no longer keep His commandments. Yeshua tells us in Revelation 2:4,  to “Return to our first love.” We must come back to the truth. We must teach our children the truth. We must live out that truth as an example to our children and we will be a witness to the world. And  if we do, then we must  train up our children in the way they must go, so that they will not depart from what they have learned, Proverbs 22:6.  Also we will be godly neighbors, loving one another.

The Word tells us that we are to love the Lord with all of our heart.  What does that mean? It means this, you shall have no other god before the One True God, this means the world and all that goes with the world, like  it says in 1 John 2:16,  The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.  The world is full of temptation and people fall into its grip time and time again. The world is like quicksand, once you step into it, you just keep sinking deeper and deeper until you are buried in it, because  you cannot pull yourself out, it is too consuming.

Some people  may repent from their lust, if they have built a strong foundation on the Lord, but for many it ends up being on a downward spiral that leads to walking away from God.

Is it not time that we return to our first love?  Do we not see the signs of the times?  Maybe not,  because we may not read our Bibles. The world has a way of closing our eyes.  The world as they say, is going to hell. Today we can see just how things have gotten. We call good evil and evil good. The love of many has grown cold. Our children have been taught to disregard their parents’ thinking, because now in this new world we have been enlightened, or as they say, we have become woke!   We are blowing the trumpet and sounding the alarm. This is a time to rise up and return to our roots, and our roots are in the One True God who created the heavens and the earth. We must draw close to God, so that He will draw close to us.  Jeremiah 6:19 tells us what the Lord has to say,

“Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find a resting place for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ And I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen.’ Therefore hear, you nations, and know, you congregation, what is among them. Hear, earth: behold, I am bringing disaster on this people, The fruit of their plans, because they have not listened to My words, and as for My Law, they have rejected it also.”

We must return to His ways and walk on His paths.  This is the  time to shake off our slumber and return to the Lord. We must examine ourselves and repent of our sins and draw near to God with prayer and fasting.  Today if you hear His voice do not harden your hearts, for this is a time for humility and the baring of one’s soul.
